What a policy is made of
- Liability — pays for injury and property damage you cause to others. Required in some form nearly everywhere.
- Uninsured / underinsured motorist — pays for your injuries when the at-fault driver has no coverage or not enough. Frequently the most overlooked coverage on the policy.
- Collision — damage to your car from an accident, regardless of fault.
- Comprehensive — theft, fire, hail, flood, vandalism and animal strikes.
- Medical payments — medical costs for you and your passengers regardless of fault.
- Rental reimbursement and roadside — usually inexpensive add-ons.

Why go through an independent agency
A captive agent has one company's rates. We compare several, which matters more than people expect: carriers price the same driver very differently depending on their appetite that year. A ticket, a young driver, or an unusual vehicle can swing which carrier wins by a wide margin.
It also means that when your rate jumps at renewal, re-shopping doesn't require starting over with a stranger.
Bundling
Bundling home and auto usually saves money — but not always, and we'll tell you when it doesn't. See when bundling actually wins.
